The magic of Beltane

Judy Claughton • May 1, 2020

May day at the start of this month marks the start of Summer and a time of magic and awakening passions and creativity

May blossom blooms and we welcome Beltane, beginning on the start of May as the old celtic festival of fertility and union. They say the energy of Beltane this year will grow and grow to peak at the time of the full moon on Wednesday 6th - so now is a time to use the energy of the seasons to call out the magic within you.

Beltane is a celebration of the potency of the earth and the forces of nature. The time when the planet around us is bursting forward with the signs of abundant fertility, rapid growth of plants. Birds fight and sing for their mate. Now is a time when plants seem to grow at an accelerated rate - almost growing under our eyes and most certainly overnight.

It is a time connect with this passion and awakening energy within us - and awakening of our creativity - an awakening of our love - an awakening of the exuberant celebration of life.

What does this time of year mean to you? What are you noticing in the energy of the land, plants and animals around you at the moment?

I invite you to connect to this energy, connecting by standing outside - at dawn or dusk if you can - to draw a feeling of stability and strength from the earth, from the soil, to draw a feeling of freshness and clarity of thought from the air that brushes your skin gently - to draw a feeling of rejuvenation from the water in the air, on the ground - and maybe even caressing your face with raindrops - to draw a feeling of connection to fire - of the strength in the sun and the fires within you - fires of creativity, of passion, of awakening dreams of projects coming together, of calling the fires of passion and abundance you want to welcome into your life.

Enjoy exploring the season and the magic it brings - and if you feel drawn to share your adventures please reach out and connect on email or drop by and share on Facebookor instagram

- Happy Beltane - may your journeys be plentiful!
